The ‘MacLaughlin River Cottage’ is a farm stay located along the Snowy River Way between Ando and Dalgety, near the Alen Caldwell Bridge on the MacLaughlin River.
The cottage includes:
two bedrooms; one with a queen bed, the other with a double bed,
sunroom/bedroom with single trundle bed
loungeroom with corner lounge, TV and slow combustion wood fire
bathroom,
fully equipped kitchen,
laundry with extra shower,
outside toilet,
back patio with BBQ.
It is located on a working Merino Sheep and Angus cattle property ‘The River’, previously named ‘Windella’. The current owners currently run dry Merino wethers and Angus cattle with cows due to calf during August/September. Shearing of the Merino wethers takes place annually on the property in the shearing shed during September/October. We have two shearing sheds cats named ‘Meg’ and ‘Mog’ who love to get involved in all farm activities including shearing, mustering and yard work.
The property has a well known landmark ‘Bungee Peak’ and the original location of a trout hatchery along Hatchery Creek (Bungee Peak Creek). The MacLaughlin River is also classified as a Blue Ri
